Covid 19 update
Quite a few of you have asked if we are getting ready for opening on the 4th July - - - we’re sorry to say but no, we don’t envisage opening before Sept 1st if the situation continues as it is.
We don’t want to put ourselves, mum or villagers at risk by encouraging visitors to the area. This also goes for the campsite, we are not taking any bookings before 1st Sept.
Additionally is the problem of sourcing Beer, not many of the breweries are making beer at the moment and they need around 4 weeks to produce it.
We will keep you updated regularly with this new ‘flyer’.
Many thanks to all those that have supported the shop since our opening and negated the need to go to town for basic items during this crisis.
Just to assure those that haven’t yet used this facility – the shop is deep cleaned every morning / gloves are available / change is kept immersed in disinfectant / all risks are kept to a minimum.
Ice creams – we apologise to those few who managed to have melted magnums…..!!!! Please see us for a full refund. The freezer seemed to have a mind of its own that day (or was possibly left open).
Bread – if anyone wishes to pre-order bread feel free to call, text or email prior to 2pm for next day delivery. All fresh from Westcountry bakery. We shall only be getting a few small loaves to keep in stock otherwise.
Please note that all prices are similar to supermarket prices where possible. Pasties are only £1.50.
Village Printing Facility
As we mentioned earlier in the year we have had the support of ‘The Pub is the Hub’ not just for the village shop but also for helping us to set up a village printing service.
We now have the latest Colour Laser Printer that is available for everyone to use. Alongside this we have a ‘Chromebook’ laptop that can be used on the premises for designing what you wish to print, and also a laminator (with various sized pouches).
To cover the future costs of paper and toner any printing will be 5p per sheet for plain white paper or 10p per sheet for cream, light green or waterproof paper.
Do bear with us because I.T. is not our favourite subject and there may be some teething problems.
If you wish to have something printed please send by email to
Once printed we will delete the email to protect confidentiality and abide by GDPR regulations.
Proposed new opening times
Once we decide that it will be safe to reopen the pub we intend to slightly extend our opening times by opening at midday on Fridays.
Thursday 5pm – 11pm
Friday midday – midnight
Saturday midday – midnight
Sunday midday – 10.30pm
All the best and stay safe
